Meltdown

 

This a a defense-type game developed in Flash and deployed on the MonsterTV.

 

The goal of the game is to protect the reactor core in the center of the screen. Particles enter from the sides of the screen and move toward the reactor, damaging the reactor if they get to it. The particles take damage over time, and damage each other if they are close. Thus, the player must try to clump the particles together in order to destroy them. Particles can also spawn with certain effects, and some larger particles are immovable, requiring more strategy to defeat. The players move particles by dragging them across the screen. The size of the MonsterTV made the game ideal for two players, one on the left and one on the right.

 

The MonsterTV is a large touch-screen television, and deploying on it proved challenging. This was one of my first experiences with deploying on new hardware in a short amount of time, and I think this was a very good experience.
